Monster Hunter Wilds players are using cheats to create hunts with absurd rewards

While the vast majority of Monster Hunter Wilds players are tackling the game as intended, a select few nefarious hunters are using cheats to engage in unauthorized hunts, which provide a ridiculous amount of valuable rewards upon completion.

This, it goes without saying, is against the terms of service of the game and puts players who engage with them at risk of bans. However, that hasn’t stopped these naughty Wilds players from listing these illicit hunts while online for others to see and take note of. As such, a few extremely devious examples have been posted on community hubs over the past few days.

Posts including this one on Reddit from user Valuable_Click_716, which shows a Tempered Arkveld hunt assignment. Normal enough, right? Except, the rewards for completing it include over 250 Ancient Orb sword decorations, 244 Ancient Orb armour decorations, 100 golden melding tickets, and a bunch of Artian weapon upgrade materials. So, not normal at all then. This sort of reward is, obviously, not the norm.

Monster Hunter Wilds cheated hunt

That’s not all, take this post from tlam19, which shows another investigation that provides players who finish it with hundreds upon hundreds of tier 6 Artian weapon parts. Again, just a cheeky and absolutely bannable method of skipping a major grind in the Wilds endgame.

Now it’s unclear just how strong the Monster Hunter Wilds’ anti-cheat is, and how often players engaging in such behavior are getting banned, but all regular players can really do at this point is report cheaters when and where they see them. However, what’s particularly worrying about this kind of cheat is that normal players, either trying their luck or half-asleep and unaware can join in with these hunts if they’re accessible from the in-game hunt finder. That means that loads of players, outside of the usual community of cheaters, can reap these ill-gotten fruits.

Now, in case you’re sitting there at home and feeling tempted, it’s worth noting that players do get banned for this kind of thing. Also, if a normal player does stumble across your cheater hunts, you’re kind of sweeping them into potential bans, so think twice before you create or join such a hunt. A lot of people don’t enjoy a lengthy farm, I myself am still missing that brilliant Pierce Jewel 3 decoration that’ll complete my heavy bowgun build, but it’s not worth possibly catching a permanent ban for.
