Maybe it’ll come out in 2025, after all: Ghost of Yotei shows signs of life at last, thanks to an official rating in Taiwan
Ghost of Yotei, the much-anticipated sequel to the wonderful Ghost of Tsushima, has been rated in Taiwan. While this doesn’t exactly provide much in terms of new info, it is the first chirp from the canary in the Ghost of Yotei coalmine, providing hope for those eager to hear more about Sucker Punch’s next action game.
The rating, caught and reported on first by the good folks at Gamatsu, states the game will have violence, tobacco and alcohol, and inappropriate language. On top of that it reconfirms what we already knew, that it’s an action game coming to the PS5 some time in 2025.
Not exactly a feast of info, but it’s the latest bit of news since the game’s reveal during the Sony State of Play in September 2024. With it still set to launch at some point this year, we should hopefully hear more about the game in the coming months.
There’s good reason for the excitement around the game. Ghost of Tsushima was an excellent game, albeit one chocked full of filler in the opinion of many, including former VG247 deputy editor Kirk Mckeand who reviewed the game back in 2020. Even so, it plucked the heart strings of countless gamers worldwide, who were hungry for the blend of cinematic gameplay and blood curdling action Sucker Punch produced.
Here’s hoping this Taiwanese rating acts as the first crack in the dam of oncoming news around the game, which if released this year could add to the already stacked release schedule in the coming months.
